- YoloIt is a self-control tool. It helps you spend less time in the apps you choose; it cannot guarantee that it will.
- Only do a challenge if it is safe and legal where you are. Skip any that isn't.
- YoloIt Premium is billed by Apple or Google. You cancel in your store account, and refunds go through the store; on Google Play we can also refund you ourselves.
- Your rights as a consumer are not affected by anything on this page.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Use apply to the YoloIt app for iPhone, iPad and Android, and to this website. YoloIt is published by BM NODEX SRL, Intrarea Catedrei 17-23, Et. 1, Ap. 11, Sector 1, 014162 Bucuresti, Romania (trade register J2018013360402, CUI 39887391) — “we” and “us” on this page. On Google Play, the app is listed under the developer account named Easy solutions; in both stores, the publisher is BM NODEX SRL.
By downloading or using YoloIt you agree to these terms, which are linked in the app (on the subscription screen and in Profile → About) and are always available at yoloit.app/terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. How we handle personal data is explained separately in our Privacy Policy.
2. Who can use YoloIt
You must be at least 16 years old to use YoloIt. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use it, and in particular buy anything in it, only with the permission of a parent or guardian.
3. What YoloIt does
You choose apps to limit, complete small real-world challenges to earn minutes, and the apps you chose open for the minutes you earned. On iPhone and iPad, blocking uses Apple’s Screen Time; on Android, it uses permissions you grant in the system settings (Usage access and Display over other apps). YoloIt needs iOS 16 or later, or Android 8.0 or later, and the app itself is in English.
Blocking works only while those are in place. You can switch it off at any time, through your device settings or by uninstalling the app. YoloIt is built to help you build better habits. It is not a security, parental-control or medical product.
4. Challenges and your safety
- Challenges are suggestions. You decide whether, when and how to do each one.
- Only do a challenge if it is safe, legal and appropriate for you, for the people around you and for the place you are in. If it isn’t, skip it — the app always lets you.
- Respect other people, their privacy and their property. Follow local laws and the rules of the place you are in.
- Never do a challenge while driving, cycling or doing anything else that needs your full attention.
- Some challenges are physical — a long walk, stairs, jumps. Do them at your own pace, stop if something hurts, and skip any that do not suit your health or fitness.
- Some challenges involve other people or going somewhere on your own. Use the same judgement you would without the app: choose a safe place and time, and do nothing that makes you or anyone else uncomfortable. Some challenges are written for adults, for example ones that involve strangers or going out after dark; if you are under 18, skip those.
- YoloIt does not give medical, psychological, fitness or other professional advice. If you have a health condition, or are unsure whether an activity suits you, ask a qualified professional first.
You are responsible for your own decisions and actions while you do a challenge, and we are not responsible for their consequences. This does not limit our responsibility for the challenges we write, or any responsibility the law does not allow us to exclude (section 11).
5. Your licence to use YoloIt
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence, revocable only as described in section 12, to install and use YoloIt on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with these terms and the rules of the store you got it from.
You must not:
- copy, modify, sell or distribute the app or its content, including the challenges, except as the law allows;
- decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows this despite this restriction;
- interfere with the app or the services it relies on, or try to get paid features without paying for them;
- use the app for anything unlawful.
6. Subscriptions and purchases
YoloIt is free to use, with limits. YoloIt Premium is optional: an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, that removes those limits and adds more features. The app and the store show what each plan includes and what it costs before you buy.
- The free plan. The free plan has limits, for example on how many apps you can block, how many challenges a day earn minutes and how many minutes you can keep. Our Support page lists the current limits, and the app tells you when you reach one. We may change them from time to time.
- Minutes. The minutes you earn in YoloIt are a way to unlock the apps you chose to block. They are stored only on your phone, not with us: deleting the app or using “Reset all data” removes them, and we cannot bring them back. They have no money value and can’t be bought, sold or exchanged, for money or for anything else.
- Payment. You buy through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and the store charges your store account. Apple or Google processes the payment; we never see your card details. The price, the billing period and what is included are shown in the app and by the store before you confirm.
- Automatic renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price then in force, until you cancel it. On the App Store, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends: Apple charges the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. On Google Play, cancel any time before the period ends: Google charges the renewal when the new period starts.
- Cancelling. Manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings: on iPhone, in Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions; on Android, in Google Play, under Payments & subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel it. After you cancel, you keep what you paid for until the end of the current period.
- Free trials. If a free trial is offered, its length is shown before you start. When the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged, unless you cancelled before then: on the App Store at least 24 hours before the trial ends, on Google Play any time before it ends. Where the store’s rules provide for it, any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Introductory offer. The app may offer the yearly subscription with its first year at a lower introductory price, paid up front when you subscribe. After that first year, the subscription renews every year at the yearly price shown with the offer, unless you cancel. The offer is for new subscribers: each store account can use it once, and an account that has already had a free trial or another introductory offer of YoloIt Premium may not be eligible. The store decides who is eligible and shows the price before you confirm.
- Price changes. If a subscription’s price changes, the store tells you beforehand, and asks for your agreement where its rules require. A new price never applies to a period you have already paid for, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
- Refunds. On the App Store, Apple handles refunds under its own refund policy: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. On Google Play, request a refund through Google Play (see Google’s help on refunds); Google’s refund policy applies. We can also refund a Google Play purchase ourselves, so you can write to us at support@yoloit.app too.
- Restoring purchases. If you reinstall the app or move to a new device, use “Restore purchases” in the app while signed in to the same store account.
If you live in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you may have a right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. For purchases in YoloIt, the store’s own terms explain how that right applies, how to use it and when it ends: Apple’s Media Services Terms on the App Store, and Google Play’s terms and refund policy on Google Play. Nothing in these terms limits that right or any other right you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
7. Our content
The app, its design, text, challenges and illustrations, and the YoloIt name and logo, belong to BM NODEX SRL or to those who licensed them to us, and are protected by intellectual property law. These terms give you no rights in them beyond the licence in section 5. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely and without owing you anything.
8. Other companies’ services
YoloIt relies on services from other companies, such as Apple and Google (including Firebase) and the companies that host this website and our email; our Privacy Policy names those that handle personal data for us. Your store account and the stores’ payment and refund systems are Apple’s or Google’s services, governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them. We remain responsible for YoloIt itself, including the parts that run on services we use, and for any refund we owe you under these terms or the law.
9. Changes to the app
We keep improving YoloIt, so its features, challenges and content change over time. Beyond what is needed to keep it working as described, we change the app only for a good reason: to keep it working with new versions of iOS and Android and with the stores’ rules, to fix faults or security problems, or to improve it. A change never costs you extra. If a change has more than a minor negative effect on your access to or use of Premium during a period you have paid for, we tell you in the app reasonably in advance, saying what changes, when, and that you may end your subscription. You can then end it free of charge within 30 days of the notice or of the change, whichever is later, and get back the part of the price for the time you have not used: through the store where it can refund you, otherwise from us. If we stop offering the app, we tell you beforehand and refund the unused part of any paid period in the same way. We provide the updates, including security updates, needed to keep YoloIt working as described; we are not responsible for a fault caused only by your not installing an update within a reasonable time, if we told you about the update and what not installing it would lead to, and our installation instructions were not at fault.
10. What we don’t promise
If you are a consumer, the law guarantees that the digital content and digital services you get from us conform to the contract — for example, that they match their description and are fit for the purposes such apps are normally used for — and gives you remedies if they do not. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.
Beyond them, and to the extent the law allows, YoloIt is provided “as is” and “as available”. In particular, we do not promise that it will reduce your screen time, that blocking will work on every device and operating-system version, or that the app will be free of errors.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for intentional or grossly negligent conduct, or any other liability that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.
Subject to that:
- we are not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, or for indirect loss, loss of data or loss of profit;
- our total liability to you for all claims about YoloIt is limited to the amount you paid for YoloIt in the 12 months before the claim arose, or €50, whichever is higher.
12. Ending these terms
You can stop using YoloIt at any time by uninstalling it. If you have a subscription, cancel it in your store account as well. We may suspend or end your licence if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Sections 7, 10, 11, 15 and 16 continue to apply after these terms end.
13. Apple App Store and Google Play terms
If you got YoloIt from Apple’s App Store, the following also applies:
- These terms are between you and BM NODEX SRL only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for YoloIt and its content.
- Your licence is limited to using YoloIt on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that YoloIt may also be accessed, acquired and used by other accounts associated with you, as Apple’s terms allow, for example through Family Sharing, volume purchasing or Legacy Contacts. YoloIt Premium itself is not shared through Family Sharing.
- We, not Apple, are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for YoloIt, as set out in these terms or as the law requires. Apple has no obligation at all to provide maintenance or support for YoloIt.
- If YoloIt fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for YoloIt. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility, to the extent these terms do not exclude them.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to YoloIt or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, claims that YoloIt fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that YoloIt, or your possession and use of it, infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use YoloIt, such as your mobile data service agreement.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Questions, complaints and claims about YoloIt go to us, using the contact details in section 17.
If you got YoloIt from Google Play, your use of Google Play, including purchases, is also governed by the Google Play Terms of Service.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms only for a good reason: a change in the law or in the stores’ rules, a new or changed feature, or to make them clearer. We will publish the new version at yoloit.app/terms (Romanian translation at yoloit.app/ro/terms) with a new date at the top and, if a change affects your rights or obligations, tell you in the app reasonably in advance before it takes effect. If you keep using YoloIt after that, the updated terms apply; if you do not agree, stop using the app and cancel any subscription before then. A change never applies to a subscription period you have already paid for.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Romanian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country or of Romania. Otherwise, disputes go to the competent courts of Bucharest, Romania.
Before going to court, please write to us (section 17): most problems can be sorted out quickly by email. If we cannot resolve your complaint, you can turn to the consumer protection authority where you live; in Romania, that is the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC, anpc.ro), which also runs an alternative dispute resolution service (SAL).
16. General
- If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, for example if the app is sold. We will tell you if that affects you, and it will not reduce your rights.
- These terms, the information shown in the app and in the store before you buy and, if you got YoloIt from the App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/) are the whole agreement between you and us about YoloIt. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. These terms are published in English and in Romanian (yoloit.app/ro/terms); the version in the language your device is set to applies to you — Romanian if your device uses Romanian, English in every other case.
